Extended leave of absence
The policy concerning extended leave of absence as set by Birmingham City Council can be found here.
Although we are an academy, we have adopted this policy to ensure all students are treated fairly.
Holiday form for exceptional circumstances
Parents are only allowed to take their children out of school for exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstances are one-off events which are unavoidable, such as the death of a close relative, attendance at a funeral, respite care of a looked-after child or a housing crisis which prevents attendance.
Students who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in exams. Good attendance also shows potential employers that a young person is reliable and committed.
Below is a link to a document containing the school standard leave of absence form. Please print this form and complete it. You must then return it to the main office as soon as possible.
Our curriculum has been structured to allow personalisation of your learning. You may find that you wish to take advantage of elements of different pathways, for example, by taking a mixture of A-levels or Level 3 vocational subjects.

Transitioning to our sixth form
Our sixth form is a vibrant and exciting place to study a variety of A-levels and vocational courses. Our students are exceptionally friendly and come from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
Application to enrol
Every year, we attract a significant number of external applications to join our sixth form. Here is an outline of when our sixth form events take place and when interviews, offers and enrolment take place.
