This provides a basic introduction to the legal sector. In addition to specific legal content, the requirements of the qualification enable learners to develop transferable skills that are highly regarded by higher education providers and employers.
The BTEC Applied Law Level 3 provides a vocational context in which learners develop the knowledge and skills required for degree courses, including reading legal texts, effective writing, research skills, analytical skills, creative development and preparation for assessment methods used in degrees.

Assessment
There are two main forms of assessment – external and internal. Students will complete two internal units and two external units (controlled assessments).
Undergraduate degree options
This qualification carries UCAS points and if it is taken alongside other qualifications as part of a two-year course of learning, it is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements for many courses. It supports entry to many higher education courses, depending on the other qualifications learners have taken.
Students can consider a wide range of degree courses, including Law, Policing, Criminology and Business Management.
This qualification can also support progression to employment directly or via an apprenticeship.
