Digital Media Cambridge Technician

Structure and Content 

The objective of this qualification is to give learners the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills to become creative within their ICT skills and develop advertising media plans including creating a media product, planning and pitching and creating a social media presence.

This will enable learners to progress to further study in the IT and digital sectors.

Year 1

Learners study six mandatory units:
Media products and audiences (written exam)
Creating a media product (coursework)
Planning and delivering a pitch for a media product (coursework)

Year 2

Pre-production and planning (written exam)
Advertising media (coursework)
Creating a personal media profile (coursework)

Undergraduate degree options

When taken alongside other Level 3 qualifications or A-levels such as English, arts or technology, this qualification gives learners the opportunity to progress to a degree in an information technology discipline or where information technology related skills and knowledge may be advantageous.

On successful completion of this course, students can consider a range of degree courses such as Animation and Online Interactive Technologies, Marketing and Social Media, Graphic Design and Media Studies.

This qualification also carries UCAS points and is recognised by many higher education providers.
