With all our students, the process of establishing a clear path towards a successful future begins on their entry to the Sixth Form community. Enrolment interviews and a probationary period are used to ensure that students make the right course choices, to aid them in achieving their goals. Throughout year 12, students receive a wide variety of opportunities to prepare them for their applications the following year. Guest speakers from a range of Higher Education providers are utilised, to ensure our students are able to make an informed choice as to where they wish to study. University trips and application workshops take place throughout the year, and students benefit from our links with University College Birmingham, which results in an intensive application building session during one of the school’s multiple challenge days.
Parent information days take place in both years 12 and 13, to address any queries that may arise during the application process. Students benefit from one to one support by the Sixth Form team throughout the duration of their studies with us. In both 2014 and 2015 100% of students who applied to university were successful in gaining a place at their first choice.
